A Review of The Akrotiri Beach Resort Hotel

After escaping the cold British weather, we received a warm welcome from The Akrotiri Beach Resort Hotel that was nothing short of serene. The hotel’s signature scent of warm vanilla filled the air as we were greeted by friendly staff members. Our luggage was swiftly taken off our hands, and in return, we were offered a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade. While we were whisked through the airy, cream-colored corridors on a welcoming tour of the facilities, the staff ensured our luggage made it safely to our room, which was ready well before the usual check-in time.

The room was spacious and well-appointed with all the essential amenities, comfortably accommodating two guests. It featured ample storage, a large sofa, a double bed, and a tasteful ensuite bathroom. The standout feature was the balcony, offering a stunning view of Paleokastritsa’s Agia Triada Beach—perfect for both admiring the scenery and scouting out sunbed availability! Every night, I slept soundly in crisp white sheets, lulled by the soothing sound of waves from the beach below.

Each morning, we awoke excited to sample the diverse breakfast buffet, which catered to all cravings and dietary requirements. While my partner indulged in the hot food options, I was drawn to the fresh banana bread and velvety Greek yogurt—quite possibly the best I’ve ever tasted!
The hotel’s entertainment options were just as varied. From live jazz performances in the evenings to heavenly seaside massages, olive oil tasting classes, and sunset boat tours, there was no shortage of things to do. We booked unforgettable experiences through the hotel, such as island-hopping to Paxos and Anti Paxos, or enjoying a sunset sailing trip, where our host shared homemade wine from local vineyards.

For soaking up the Greek sun, the hotel provided many perfect spots. We often found ourselves on comfortable sunbeds, dipping our toes into the infinity pool with its panoramic views of the Ionian Sea. Later, we’d head down to the sandy shores below, sipping cocktails at Akron Beach Bar. However, the ultimate sunbathing spot was undoubtedly the ‘Rocky Beach.’ Carved into the cliffside below the hotel, this private bay offered a tranquil and picturesque beach experience. Its small reef, home to a variety of fish and marine life, was ideal for snorkelling.

After a full day of exploring, we were always greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff, eager to ensure everything was to our liking and exchange pleasantries that never failed to bring a smile to our faces.

With its breathtaking location, stunning views, and excellent entertainment, the Akrotiri Beach Resort Hotel quickly became our home away from home, offering a warm Greek escape we will never forget.

In a nutshell…

Pros: Stunning Location, Wholesome Hospitality, Amazing Experiences Offered

Cons: Expensive Lunch Menu (There’s nothing else I can critique! And It still was very tasty!)
